We have created a feature within the BOPIS application which allows you to enable Timeslot choices for your customers. Here they will be able to choose a time and date where they will choose to pick up their order. The time and dates are based upon your opening hours and the information you set within the Timeslot settings.

Timeslots are one of the more involved features of the application, so please ensure you follow the steps in this guide to make sure everything is working correctly.

There are a few Prerequisite pieces that must be done before the app will be ready to accept Timeslot orders.

First is a piece of setup that must be done in BigCommerce. You need to create a custom field within BigCommerce to make sure the orders can save. The steps to create this are:

1. Navigate to BigCommerce

2. Go to Advanced Settings > Account Signup Form

3. Navigate to Address Fields

4. Click Create New Field and choose Text Field

5. In the popup label it "DatePickUp" - Name it exactly this

6. In the field for "Inline CSS Style" place "display: none;" - Exactly that again

7. Click save

This creates a field in the orders which we save the chosen date and time against, it also makes it invisible so we can apply our own design over it.

Additionally you need to ensure that the Timezones assigned to each store are accurate, otherwise your customers will see times to choose which aren't accurate to the stores opening hours. To make sure this is done correct please read the guide for Setting up and Editing stores.

Timeslots are a feature which can be enabled and disabled as required. When it is off customers will be able to choose when they would like to pick up their orders, when off it will reset to standard BOPIS. The main plan for this feature is for it to be enabled for times of high in-store traffic and stress.

To enable Timeslot navigate to the BOPIS Application. Then when in the BOPIS App navigate to Configuration > Store Configuration. This is where you can enable Timeslots using the On/Off switch towards the bottom.

This page is also where you can change settings related to the Timeslot feature. These settings and their explanation are:

• Timeslot Max limit per store - How many orders can be made per Timeslot
• Timeslot checkout limit (hours) - How long before a timeslot can a customer choose it (e.g. if 3 hours, a customer placing at 12pm can choose from 3pm or later)
• Timeslot Interval Time (minutes) - How large are the timeslots (e.g. 30 would mean each slot is 30 minutes. 12pm, 12:30, etc.)
• Timeslot Interval Pickup Reminder (Hours) - How long before a customers timeslot will the pickup reminder be sent
